It is a unique and peaceful corner of French style that is in the heart of Rímac, to the right of the Alameda de los Descalzos. For its time, it was an innovative and daring urban project, since it was outside the city limits.
It is said that it was built by Viceroy Manuel de Amat to win over her lover, the variety actress Micaela Villegas, better known as La Perricholi. By coincidence, both this work and the Alameda were in front of the residence of the latter. Today, that residence no longer exists, and in its place stands the original building of an old brewery.
The Walk surrounded a large body of water in front of the wall of the arcade. It must have been an aqueduct so that the waters of the Rímac River cascaded from a high central arch. The Paseo was presided over by a beautiful, bombastic and elegant arcade of neoclassical influence. And that portal was crowned by a frieze of portholes.

The work began in 1770 and it experienced several delays until two years later when the work was cut short. Funding ran out and there were protests from the owners of nearby orchards. Then the name, the place, the vestiges remained.
At present, some beautiful balconies are maintained around the Paseo.
