At the present time, Cacela is one of the last Algarvian jewels. With a historically homogeneous and well-preserved historical center, with a small circular plant and small dimensions, which integrates an important set of traditional architecture, Cacela presents itself as a pleasant discovery, on a coastline of Algarve in progressive desconfiguration.
The beach is located on an extensive dune peninsula, of fine white sand, which constitutes a physical barrier against the advance of the sea and that protects the calm and shallow waters of the Ria Formosa. The dunes are covered by several species of plants, which allow their fixation.
