The UFMG Knowledge Space encourages the construction of a critical look at the production of knowledge, contributing to the debate and dialogue between academia and other training environments.
As a result of the partnership between UFMG, the operator TIM and the Government of Minas, the Space is part of the Praça da Liberdade Cultural Circuit, with a program sensitive to cultural diversity and multiplicity, explaining the dialogue between science and other aspects of daily life. It is a dynamic museum that makes use of technological and audiovisual resources in a playful and interactive approach.
One of the highlights of the Space is the Astronomical Terrace. In it, visitors can observe the sky, with the help of equipment and guidance from astronomy experts. Located on the fifth floor, the terrace shares space with another attraction: the Planetarium. The structure has the Spacegate Duo digital system and the Skymaster ZKP4 projector, both produced in Germany. Its technology makes the sky look real, such is the definition of the images. The public has a 360º view, a unique immersive cinema experience.
Daily sessions with audiovisual productions and weekly commented astronomical projections are held. The UFMG Knowledge Space also hosts thematic exhibitions. "Too Much Human", main exhibition, deals with the origin of life, evolution and human trajectory, opens doors for the visitor to taste science as it is made - full of doubts, uncertainties and constant discoveries. Temporary exhibitions are also part of the program, together with debates, courses and workshops.
Outside, facing the Praça da Liberdade, the museum has a digital facade. At night, images are displayed that combine art, science and experimentation, creating an interface between the museum and the public space.

On Thursdays: at 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm.
* The sessions of 14h and 15h, from Tuesday to Friday, are reserved for groups scheduled.
