The parish was inaugurated on October 4, 1981 and Friar Miecislau was appointed as parish priest. The church's first matrix was just a wooden shack, on beaten ground, and it was around this shack that the first pastoral movements flourished.
On November 14, 1993, the first mass was celebrated in the nave of the final headquarters, which was built thanks to the help of the faithful community.
After 15 years, Frei João Batista succeeded Frei Miescilau as parish priest, on January 2, 1996. In 1999, the community had the honor of welcoming the Relics of Santo Antônio. A blessing! In 2003, Friar Casimiro Cieslik took the place of parish priest of, until then, São Francisco de Assis parish.logo_ssfa_horizontal
On May 25, 2003, in a celebration presided over by Dom Falcão, the church was elevated to a sanctuary. And that same year, on November 15, the community welcomed Frei Norberto de Moura Cruz as the new parish priest at the Sanctuary, succeeding Frei Casimiro.
The following year, on December 8, 2004, with Solemn Mass celebrated by the Archbishop of Brasilia, Dom João Braz de Avis, the 150th anniversary of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception of Mary was celebrated.
In 2008, to continue the work carried out by the previous parish priests, Frei Evilásio was installed as a new parish priest. During the course of the year, the Church underwent several renovations, paintings, creation of gardens, a new parish secretariat and parish priest's service room.
In 2012, Frei Roberto Cândido was elected the new rector of the Sanctuary.
