Il Parco Ria Formosa è una delle risorse naturali più belle dell'Algarve, grazie alla varietà dei suoi ecosistemi e alla sua posizione unica. Questo incredibile paradiso naturale si estende per oltre 60 km, dalla zona di Ancão (che appartiene al comune di Loulé) alla Manta Rota (nella contea di Vila Real de Santo António) e funge da riparo per uccelli migratori e specie molto raro.
