The Promotor Francisco Lins do Rego Ecological Park, also known as Pampulha Ecological Park, is a large park located in the Ouro Preto and Bandeirantes neighborhoods, in the Pampulha region, in Belo Horizonte.
It is the project of architects Gustavo Penna, Álvaro Hardy, Veveco, and Mariza Machado Coelho. The leisure area is on an artificial island of 27 hectares, which was formed with silting material taken from the bottom of the lagoon that gives the name to the region.
On May 12, 2009, the Japanese Immigration Memorial was opened in the park. The construction cost 8 million reais and pays homage to the friendship between the State of Minas Gerais and Japan. The project is designed by architects Gustavo Penna and Mariza Machado Coelho.
