This building is architecturally vulgar, regional, rural, rectangular in shape, with two floors and no stone work to indicate. All the housing was built based on the poor masonry. On the main facade has only one entrance door and two windows, one of which is very small.
To indicate this house as the place where the Convention of 1834 was signed, a white marble plaque of Estremoz with the following inscription painted in black was placed between the lintel of the door and the window above it: ON 26 MAY 1834 'THIS HOUSE OF JOAQUIM ANTONIO SARA / MAGO WAS ASSIGNED TO THE EVORAMONTE CONVENTION THAT RESTORED PEACE IN PORTUGAL.
The plaque was placed here on the initiative of the owner of the property, between the end of the twenties and the beginning of the thirties of the twentieth century, when carrying out reforms in this dwelling. The present plaque came to replace a simple couplet was the same there that we can observe today.
The Estremocense Joaquim Antonio Dias Saramago, as well as a physician in this area, was at that time the administrator of the municipality and, as the plaque evocative of the event indicates, also the owner of the property, where the parties involved in the Civil War sat down and signed the Convention. The following year, we found him as Judge of the Common Barn of this town.

This property is located in Rua Direita, now called Convention Street. Here is the house where a Convention was signed between the Absolutists and Liberals, which ended with the Civil War in Portugal.
