The castle was completely rebuilt in the 17th century. It was taken over by the King of France in the 18th century as a residence for his officers. It is a very special place to stay. The open space and the natural beauty of the surrounding area are something to savour and enjoy.The village of Lurcy Lévis is within walking distance of the gîtes. It is around 2 km away. The village has a baker. supermarkets and restaurants. The superb Forêt de Tronçais National Park is perfect for walks and cycle rides.
