The Casa Guignard Museum (MCG) began to be formed in 1960, but was officially opened in 1986, in Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais. His collection includes works by Alberto da Veiga Guignard, considered one of the greatest Brazilian painters and designers of the 20th century.
The artist, born in Nova Friburgo, had a special passion for Ouro Preto, the scene of several of his works. In the museum's collection, in addition to the works, it is possible to find photos and personal objects by Guignard and works by Carlos Scliar and Amílcar de Castro dedicated to the artist.
One of the most significant pieces in the Casa Guignard Museum collection is Portrait of Man, produced in the last 1940s.
In addition to the exhibition of the collection, there are also art and creation workshops.

The Casa Guignard Museum is located at Rua Conde Bobadela, in the former property of the Costa Sena family, near Praça Tiradentes.
In the backyard, there is a soapstone fountain attributed to Aleijadinho.
The house has belonged to IEPHA since 1974 and was lent to the State Secretary of Culture of Minas Gerais to host the museum.
Tuesday to Friday 12 to 18h
Saturdays, Sundays 10 am to 3 pm
