In its dependencies stands the Lighthouse of Santa Marta (Cascais), in front of the Marina of Cascais.
The dependencies of the fort and lighthouse will be rehabilitated by the City Hall to house the Santa Marta Museum Complex. With a project by the architect Francisco Aires Mateus, the new historical-themed museum aims to create a space dedicated to the lighthouses of the river Tagus River, showing visitors the evolution of the maritime signaling system for this access to Lisbon.
It is classified as Property of Public Interest through Decree No. 129 of September 29, 1977, and Decree No. 95 of September 12, 1978.
