Built in simple lines of the baroque populist architecture, the building is of the century. XVII. The crypt of s. João de Deus is located under the main chapel of the Mother Church, where the tradition locates the house of the Green Street where was born, in 1495, João Cidade (S. João de Deus).
In Montemor-o-Novo.
The present Mother Church belonged to the Convent of S. João de Deus, currently used as a library and gallery (temporary exhibitions of plastic arts).
