The ascent to the drawer of the Colorado River, is a variant of the "Sunday walk" of the people of Santiago, who goes to the Maipo River to camp, picnic with large roasts and grills. The place to get close to the "El Volcán", is full of restaurants. It is an area for mountain biking, horseback riding, rafting on the rapids of the river, mountaineering and climbing the vertical walls of the cliffs that form the coffin of the river.
It is located at kilometer 22, which leads to the Los Maitenes and Alfalfal hydroelectric plants, along the paved road, Cajon del Maipo.
Along the way there are views and places where you can leave the car for excursions to climb the slopes to admire the dense flora and the mountains that surround us. The flora is wonderful and varied.
