From the responsibility of the Brotherhood of the Lord Jesus of the Steps, were erected by this in the early eighteenth century. Initially five, it disappeared in 1960, the one that was next to the extinct Church of Santo André. The others, which are quite similar, are located in Rua da Porta (in the Bairro da Santiago), at the mouth of Rua Alexandre Herculano (formerly Rua de Malfor) and Largo do Espírito Santo, Francisco and, finally, on the left side of the frontier of the Convent of the Maltesas. That is, they follow exactly the route of the already existing Procession of Senhor dos Passos, which in Estremoz takes place the Sunday before Palm Sunday.
Its beauty is very due to the marble used in its construction, where the white and the streaked with black veins stand out. The facades show us rolled scrolls, the emblem of the Brotherhood and the Wounds of Christ. Other characteristic features of the exterior are the pyramidal pinnacles or the cushioned wooden stops. In the interior the marble altars decorated with scallops and geometric decoration stand out, not forgetting the beautiful retables.

But the greatest enhancement will have to be given to the frescoes representing the Passion of Christ, with the corresponding Latin verses, and to the tile panels, probably from the Bernardes workshop, from the first third of the eighteenth century. The latter have motifs with Atlantean boys and pilasters. The theme varies from chapel to chapel, being nevertheless all related to the final moments of the life of Jesus Christ.
