The Cejar Lagoon, is of an intense emerald color, with edges crystallized by the salt, it is possible to bathe and enjoy the gravitational effect produced by the amount of condensed salt, the body floats easily which produces a great relaxation. It is advisable not to go barefoot because the shore has very sharp ridges of salt which easily cut the skin, it is also necessary to carry cans of water to remove the salt from the body after bathing.

The salt lagoon of Cejar, located 20 km. Approx. from San Pedro de Atacama, by dirt road in regular conditions, located in the center of the Salar de Atacama at 2,600. - meters of altitude.



San Pedro de Atacama, is located 1,670 kms. north of Santiago de Chile. To get to San Pedro you have to get to Calama, the closest city, linked to San Pedro by an excellent paved road and an imposing desert landscape.

Its geomorphological formation is a very particular case of the Atacama salt flat. It is a place of transit on the route of the pink flamingos.
