This church presents an architectural program very attached to the rural Romanesque. Its dating should be situated between the late thirteenth and early fourteenth centuries, although the temple perpetuates decorative schemes and constructive solutions that follow the Romanesque models.
The Church of Santa Maria de Meinedo, classified as Property of Public Interest since 1945, is part of the tourist-cultural route of the Romanesque Route of the Sousa Valley.
